At The Hennegan Company, environmental stewardship is part of our heritage and a responsibility we bear for future generations. We pursue
sustainability within our facility and in our greater community – and are recognized as a leader in environmentally responsible operations,
often exceeding regulatory standards and government requirements. The Hennegan Company is committed to keeping the environment clean and safe,
while enhancing value offered to our customers.
Adopting sustainability as a priority demands that we make wise choices about the materials and processes we use. As a printer, we must evaluate
chemicals used for printing work in terms of air emissions and disposal of chemical waste. In recent years, The Hennegan Company has substantially
reduced the VOC content of inks, coatings and solutions and invested in equipment to capture and recycle virtually all VOC emissions from web press
operations, with the result that air emissions have been reduced by 80% of prior levels.
We are a proud and certified vendor for the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). The Forest Stewardship Council is an international network to promote responsible management of the world’s forests. We’ve also taken major steps to reduce waste from printing
operations with a comprehensive program to recycle ink, wash solvents and paper. The implementation of new technologies and processes has also
allowed us to more efficiently use natural gas, electricity and water.
Today, sustainability stands as one of our core values. We believe that sustainable practices and the highest standards of printing are not mutually
exclusive ends, but are each elements of our business ethic. The Hennegan Company has won renown for unsurpassed printing excellence. Further, we’ve
earned the respect of our customers, employees, partners and stakeholders by continuing to set and achieve new goals for protecting the resources on
which our business depends. Our EHS Director has primary responsibility for measuring and monitoring our progress, but ultimately, it is our goal to
influence attitudes and actions company-wide.
Sustainability – and the future of our environment – is the responsibility of us all.
