Hennegan has a long history of producing its own prepress. From stone and wood block, through film and into the digital age, Hennegan
has always been at the forefront. Hennegan continues to be a vanguard in digital workflow and high-end commercial print integration. Within
the past decade, The Hennegan Company successfully implemented Prepress workflow solutions that include: computer-to-plate, digital
color proofing, Internet soft proofing and CIP3 press control standard.
The Barco-to-Creo system was pioneered by Hennegan, and as Printing Impressions said, we "approach the implementation of digital prepress with care, precision and an ever-present attention to quality." Today, art is scanned into the system on our leading Linotype Hell DC3900 Digital Scanner. Color and stripping are then worked on the Esko-Graphics System and proofed using Kodak Approval XP4 Color Proofing Systems. After customer approval, work is sent to our Creo Trendsetters for plating. The direct-to-plate method offers better plate registration and less dirt than conventional film-to plate. It also allows us to produce the vast majority of our jobs using MicroTone™, a superb fine line screening system that reduces rainbowing in neutral colors and captures amazing detail. MicroTone™ also insures crisp edges and process tint builds that look like solids! Click here to learn more.
